People with intellectual and developmental disabilities can influence the nature of accessible transportation in their communities. Through model demonstration grants, the Strengthening Inclusive Transportation Partnerships, funded by the US Administration for Community Living (ACL), Easter Seals and its colleagues from the Community Transportation Association of America and the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (N4A) learned about the strategies that organizations, agencies, and individuals can use to facilitate active participation in transportation planning.
